Charles J. O’Toole focuses his practice primarily on issues facing family-owned and closely-held businesses including corporate governance, succession planning and estate planning. He is also experienced in corporate and estate tax matters, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Charlie graduated from John Carroll University, and then served as an officer with the U.S. Army. Upon his return, he participated in graduate studies in accounting at JCU leading to a CPA certification. He then received his Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1964.
Charlie began his legal career with Roudebush, Brown (which later became Arter & Hadden). After 25 years as a partner with the firm, he joined Tucker, Ellis & West as Of Counsel.
He has served as a director of numerous local, national and international corporations.
