Matthew E. Senra, a partner with Cavitch, focuses his practice on closely-held companies engaged in complex business and real estate transactions.
Matt's clients include tenants, landlords, developers, franchisees, manufacturers, and service providers in numerous industries.
His concentration in real estate and corporate law has given him a wealth of experience in issues such as office and retail leasing, commercial real estate sales and acquisitions, private sector business acquisitions and sales, and corporate organization and governance such as negotiation and drafting of buy-sell agreements, shareholder agreements, and limited liability company operating agreements.
Matt is a frequent writer and public speaker. He has been a speaker and moderator for the Real Estate Law Institute of the Cleveland Bar Association and he has written and edited several articles for Matthew Bender & Co. and the Cleveland Bar Journal.
Matt is a member of the Cleveland Bar Real Estate Law Institute Planning Committee, the Cleveland Bar Association Real Estate Section, and the Cleveland Bar Corporate, Business and Banking Section.
Matt is a member of the board of trustees for Roots of American Music and Birchwood School, a private, non-denominational school in Cleveland, and its Governance Committee. He is the former secretary/treasurer of the Westlake chapter of Business Network International
In 2009, Matt was selected as an Ohio Rising Star, an honor for outstanding young lawyers in the state.
In 2000, he graduated magna cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. Matt is also a graduate of the prestigious University of Rochester Eastman School of Music. Prior to entering law school, he spent several years as a classical musician.
