Michael R. (“Mike”) Rasor specializes in counseling and advising privately held businesses, both in transactions and disputes. Mike seeks to be more than just an attorney for his business clients, but also an all-purpose adviser.
Several publications have identified Mike as a leader in law and public service. In November 2017, Crain’s Cleveland selected Mike as one of its Forty Under 40 top young professionals in Northeast Ohio. In March 2015, the Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club named Mike as one of the 25 most promising leaders under 35 years old in Cleveland.
Mike is licensed to practice in Ohio and North Carolina. In 2021, he was named as Chairman of Cavitch’s Capital and Finance practice group.
In addition to his legal practice, Mike served five terms as a City Councilman At-Large in the City of Stow, Ohio (pop. 35,000). Mike was elected unanimously as President of City Council in 2016.
Mike received both his law degree and baccalaureate degree from The University of Akron. As an undergraduate student, Mike studied communications (journalism) and political science and graduated summa cum laude. He was selected as Editor-in-Chief of the college newspaper, the Buchtelite. He also was a writer for the Akron Beacon Journal’s Business section and the Indianapolis Star’s Sports section.
In law school at the University of Akron, Mike’s GPA was ranked No. 7 in his class of 135 students. He was selected as the Editor-in-Chief of the Akron Law Review, which is considered one of the top law journals in the nation. Mike also participated on Akron’s Moot Court team that competed in Madison, Wisconsin.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys golfing, running, playing piano, and reading. Mike and his wife Laura are members at The Chapel in Akron and live in Stow.
