Matthew J. Mullins joined Cavitch in August of 2023 as an Associate Attorney. He is a member of Cavitch’s business law practice and is licensed to practice in Ohio and Florida.
Prior to joining Cavitch, Matt clerked at a boutique firm focusing on a broad range of transactional and regulatory matters for financial institutions and related entities. In this role, Matt assisted and advised clients in the areas of executive compensation and employee benefits, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and general regulatory matters. Additionally, Matt served as a clerk for the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, Community Legal Aid Services of Summit County, and a firm that handled litigation for some municipalities and villages in Northeast Ohio.
Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, where he double majored in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science and Speech Communication with an emphasis on Organizational Leadership and Public Relations. Matt earned his Master of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus on global communication and culture from Kent State University in partnership with Universidade Catόlica Portuguesa in Lisbon, Portugal.
Matt earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in May 2023. While at Case, Matt was an active member of the Student Bar Association and an associate editor for Health Matrix: The Journal of Law-Medicine, which focuses on the intersection of law, ethics, medicine, and policy.
Matt was born in Grapevine, Texas, but considers Falls City, Nebraska, his hometown. Matt enjoys running and hiking with his dog, water skiing, traveling, and faithfully cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
