Cavitch Familo & Durkin Co., L.P.A. is pleased to announce that Associate Attorney José Mendez Valdez has been appointed to the Associate Board of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC).
The GCFC Associate Board consists of a select group of emerging leaders and professionals dedicated to advancing the Commission’s mission: attracting major media productions to Northeast Ohio and fostering a vibrant local film ecosystem through strategic advocacy and workforce development.
Since its founding, the GCFC has been a primary catalyst in establishing Northeast Ohio as a premier destination for film and media. By providing essential production resources and championing the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit, the Commission has generated over $1 billion in economic impact for the state.
Jose, an associate attorney at Cavitch, brings a multifaceted legal background that aligns directly with the Commission’s objectives. His practice focuses on Entertainment Law, Business Law, and Litigation, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the film industry’s legal landscape, which he looks forward to utilizing in his service to the Commission’s mission.
